Our Story

My name is Sabine Greedy, and I am the founder and manager of JustCare Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, located in Oakville, Washington.

When I moved here from Germany in 2003 with my husband, our daughter, our dog, and four guinea pigs, I never would have believed I would start an animal rescue organization. I had not lived here long, however, when I kept coming across many homeless dogs and cats, and it tore at my heart. I knew I had to help them, and for a few years, I did what I could.

Making a choice became necessary when I realized that what I was doing wasn't sustainable. I could either shut my eyes to the needs and suffering of helpless animals or look for a way to continue on this journey. My soul's purpose was apparent, and that's when I founded JustCare Animal Rescue in 2016. In 2017, we became a 501C3 nonprofit.

Initially, the focus was on TNR, Trap, Neuter, and Return, but it quickly grew into something much bigger. There is so much that needs to be done, and so many animals that need help.

Today we take in unwanted animals, give them care and love, and prepare them for their future adoptive homes. Those that are not adoptable will live out their lives at the sanctuary.

Cats and dogs are not the only creatures that call the Sanctuary home. From horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and a rabbit or two, there are many beings that call JustCare their home!
